Life

Bassus, Eusebius, Eutychius, and Basilides were martyrs of Nicomedia who suffered in the year 303 during the persecution under the emperor Diocletian. They are commemorated on January 20.

By the accounts they were wealthy men and members of the senate of Nicomedia who came to believe in Christ and were baptized after witnessing the martyrdom of Bishop Theopemptus. For their confession of the faith they were themselves seized and put to death.
