Life

Martyr Isidora is an Eastern Orthodox saint commemorated on May 1. Almost nothing of her life is preserved: the available synaxarion entry records her name, her commemoration date, and her rank as a martyr, but no account of her origin, era, or the circumstances of her death. The Orthodox Church in America's listing for the day notes only that no information is available, and the surviving liturgical texts for her are of the generic form used for any holy martyr, confirming her status without supplying biographical detail.

She is a separate commemoration from Venerable Isidora the Fool-for-Christ of Tabenna, who is honored on the same day; the two should not be conflated. Beyond the bare fact of her martyrdom, her history is not recorded in the sources consulted, and the entry stands as an honest stub pending further documentation.

Notes

Honest stub; OCA gives no detail. Do NOT conflate with Venerable Isidora the Fool-for-Christ of Tabenna. Flagged for review.
